The first in a trilogy of stories telling the origin and life of Wayland the Smith, unseen actor of so many Germanic and Scandinavian myths. His story is of love, betrayal, revenge and finally redemption, and a realisation that as he forges iron, he has been forged in turn as a tool by the god Wotan.
